Potato Latkes

Ingredients

  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 1 medium onion
  • lemon juice
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBSP baking powder
  • 1/8 c melted butter
  • ground nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Grate potatoes and onions. Splash with lemon juice and squeeze out water.
  2. Mix flour, milk egg, baking powder, and nutmeg.
  3. Add potatoes, then melted butter.
  4. Heat in a skillet and fry until golden on one side. Flip. (about one minute each side)
  5. Remove and lay on paper towel-lined plate.
