PIE CRUST
Ingredients:
- 4 c flour
- 1 3/4 c butter flavored Crisco
- 1 TBSP sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c water
Directions:
- Mix flour, Crisco, sugar and salt, cutting shortening into mixture with a pastry cutter.
- In a separate bowl, beat vinegar, egg and water.
- Add to flour mixture and mold into a ball.
- Chill at least 15 min before rolling.
PECAN PIE
- Stir 3 eggs, 1 c corn syrup, 1 c sugar, 2 TBSP melted butter, and 1 tsp vanilla until well blended.
- Stir in nuts.
- Pour into pastry shell.
- Bake in 350F oven 50-55 min or until knife inserted halfway between center and comes out clean.
APPLE PIE
- Mix: 3/4-1 c sugar, 2 TBSP flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp salt, 6-7 c peeled and sliced apples (2-2 1/2 lbs)
- Dot with 2 TBSP butter
- Bake at 425F for 50-60 min
PUMPKIN PIE
- Whisk: 1 can pumpkin puree, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 eggs, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt
- Bake 15 min at 425.
- Bake 35-40 min at 350.
