PIE CRUST

Ingredients:

  • 4 c flour
  • 1 3/4 c butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 TBSP sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 TBSP vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c water

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, Crisco, sugar and salt, cutting shortening into mixture with a pastry cutter.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat vinegar, egg and water.
  3. Add to flour mixture and mold into a ball.
  4. Chill at least 15 min before rolling.

PECAN PIE

  1. Stir 3 eggs, 1 c corn syrup, 1 c sugar, 2 TBSP melted butter, and 1 tsp vanilla until well blended.
  2. Stir in nuts.
  3. Pour into pastry shell.
  4. Bake in 350F oven 50-55 min or until knife inserted halfway between center and comes out clean.

APPLE PIE

  1. Mix: 3/4-1 c sugar, 2 TBSP flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp salt, 6-7 c peeled and sliced apples (2-2 1/2 lbs)
  2. Dot with 2 TBSP butter
  3. Bake at 425F for 50-60 min

PUMPKIN PIE

  1. Whisk: 1 can pumpkin puree, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 eggs, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt
  2. Bake 15 min at 425.
  3. Bake 35-40 min at 350.
