Nepali Momo

Ingredients

  • ground chicken
  • dumpling wrappers
  • butter
  • garlic
  • ginger paste
  • salt
  • cilantro
  • onions
  • tomato
  • momo spice ( Ingredients: cardamom-amomum, cumin seed, black pepper, nutmeg, mace, cloves, cinnamon, onion, garlic, dry ginger, turmeric, red chilies, fenugreek, mustard, coriander, cassia and salt)
  • sesame seeds
  • dried peanuts
  • green pepper
  • green onion
  • avocado

Directions

  1. Mix together ground chicken, butter, cilantro, onions, garlic, ginger, momo spice, 2 TBSP salt, 1/2 tsp pepper
  2. Spray a steamer pan with cooking spray
  3. Place a tsp of chicken filling in the middle of a wrapper. Hold the wrapper in your left hand. Use your right thumb and index finger to start pinching the edges of the wrapper together. Pinch and fold until the edges of the circle close up like a little satchel. Place the momo in the prepared steamer pan. Repeat.
  4. Fill the steamer pot halfway with water and bring to a boil
  5. Set the steamer pan with the momos on top of the pot and cover with a tight lid. Steam until cooked, 8-9 minutes.

For the sauce:

  1. Combine tomatoes, butter, peanuts, green pepper, and sesame seeds together in a food processor. Blend until smooth.
  2. Top with avocado and green onion.
