Mongolian Beef

(makes 2 servings)
Ingredients:

  • 1 TBSP sesame oil
  • 16 oz flank steak
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • 2 TBSP sweet chili sauce
  • 2 TBSP hoisin sauce
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 c cooked jasmine rice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large saute pan over high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Seat the steaks until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add the soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, hoisin sauce and the bottoms of the green onions.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 2-4 minutes before adding the steak back.
  6. Baste the steaks with the sauce, flipping occasionally to cook to desired doneness.
  7. Take the pan off the heat and remove steaks from the sauce. Rest for 5 minutes
